Imagination Movers - Stir It Up

It’s hard to imagine anyone having more fun than the group of four performers in this video, but that’s exactly what makes Stir It Up such as blast. Hailing from New Orleans, the Imagination Movers start with a terrific concept: four fathers – Rich, Scott, Dave, and Smitty -- dressed up in blue coveralls as moving-company workers who inspire active imaginations with songs that pull from real aspects of life in the kid lane. The DVD is the culmination of two CDs and features both music videos and concert footage of hit songs already playing on satellite radio.

The fun is so natural and the dads’ understanding of children is so genuine that songs like "I Want My Mommy," "Toothache," and "Clean My Room" will entertain kids and the parents who watch them all with them. While comparisons rarely capture the real thing, it seems fair to say the Imagination Movers’ mix of rock and hip-hop sounds with clever yet meaningful rhymes calls to mind a kind of Barenaked Ladies for kids. Whether these “Gearheads” are encouraging children to bang on buckets and pans or demonstrating the concerns of a "First Day of School," this DVD will keep the mind and body moving.
